I believe today's package of the devotional afforded many people godly wisdom that has hitherto been lacking in different facets of their social relations.

I thought I should share with you a very brief interaction I had with a friend who read today's package of the devotional.

MY FRIEND: Do u know I practice the principle/art of silence, but I used to think its not proper?

MY RESPONSE: It is proper, though there are exceptions, as is the case with every law. There are times when you need to speak outright.

If you have any question on today's message or any other issue, do not hesitate to ask. I trust the Lord for answers that will minister to you.

Remember, you are favoured this Thursday, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

MORE ISSUES

MY FRIEND: I need intense prayers concerning my father's household, preferably over-nite. I need Gods intervention seriously.

MY RESPONSE: As much as I would love to be used by God in the place of prayer to minister solution to the issues of your father's household, you must take responsibility in the place of prayers. This is in addition to any step you need to take in line with the leading of the Holy Spirit and the dictates of wisdom, of course, within the confines of God's demands of righteousness. God answer your prayers.

MORE ISSUES (Edited)

MY FRIEND: My father-in-law invited my hubby and I to a programme in his church this evening. He said they asked them to bring powder, which he has already bought, so I should also bring baby cloth. I don't understand that because I haven't seen such before and I am really careful about things I do, especially when it concerns my children. Should I talk or should I just be silent and watch?

I have attended one of his programmes before. An evangelist ministered. It was powerful. But this one now of bringing powder and baby cloth is very strange to me, especially since he has a history of looking for miracles from one prayer place to the other.

MY RESPONSE: As much as I know that mantles (materials or objects) are not strange to the ministry of the prophetic and the miraculous, I advice that if you do not have faith in the process, it may amount to a waste of time.

Given the fact that he is your Father-in-law, I think it is appropriate that your husband, his son, intervenes to stop you from attending the meeting, as though the decision not to attend is his (your husband's). That is, if you do not want to attend. Hope you understand. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

MY FRIEND: I know about mantles but I haven't heard of the use of powder and baby cloth for prayers before. There are so many false prophets everywhere now. That is my worry.

MY RESPONSE: Attending is not by force. Even God respects the human will. Genesis 6:3. You can opt out if you do not have faith in the process.

ISSUE OF MANTLES CONTINUED FROM MY LAST POST.

ME: Was my response satisfactory?

MY FRIEND: Yes sir, though you have clearly avoided commenting on the mantle issue.

MY RESPONSE: I said it ab initio that the use of mantles is not strange to the ministry of the prophetic and the miraculous. By the grace of God, I, too, function in the prophetic and the miraculous. However, it should be noted that God can function without mantles as much as He can with them. Genuine ministers of God only operate as they are led of God or as they "feel" led of God. GOD, HIMSELF, IS UNLIMITED.

MY COUSIN: Wow! I'm enjoying this. So that powder and baby cloth are not necessary.

MY RESPONSE: It might be necessary (if the 'pastor' is genuine and depending on what leading God gives the 'man of God'), BUT NOT COMPULSORY.

COMMENT (unedited): "You want my comment on this issue, I would say, the fact that the "Pastor" asked for powder and baby cloths to be brought has or will not be effective if she doesn't have the faith to back it up. Anything can be used as a mantle cos I also believe in that, but for it to work is completely different ball-game. Besides, like we all know, there are fakes everywhere these days, so she should be very careful who prays for her "mantle" and how she uses it." J.N. (Nigeria)
